Nick Vayenas second album is now out!
We had a very productive photo-shoot a few weeks ago. For more images check this page on this blog.
I can't wait for Nick to be back in NYC [ he's actually touring with Michael Buble ] as we have a table tennis competition scheduled...
Interesting to see how the photographer's mind works - At least mine but I'm sure I'm not the only one.
I often come back to the same locations and shoot again what I've photographed previously.
Not sure exactly what the reason is, probably an unconscious wish to "perfect" what has been done before.
I did that "same image" last winter.
You have plenty of time waiting in the subway, especially in NYC...
Yesterday was not a good day for pictures, many attempts and nothing working.
It's really about investing in loss, so many uninteresting images for a couple of decent ones.
That's the nature of the game... Just have to keep on doing it.
Editing previous work shot in Cambodia I found this image and the moment is still vivid in my memory.
I recall that the teacher was sharing his knowledge of English with the students, or should I say THE student.
The young shy man in the blue shirt was doing his best to follow the lesson and the intrusion in the classroom of a foreigner taking pictures surely didn't help him. His friend, on the foreground was obviously less concerned...
But this image also tells a lot about Cambodia, its aspiration to a better life and the few resources available.
A short walk in Williamsburg today.
Felt attracted by the numerous signs piled up on the the left.
Then, a man, delivering food, appropriately stepped in and "balanced" the frame.
Of course, it would have been nice if he had a good strong looking logo on the back of his shirt... I guess you can't expect too much from people nowadays...
