OUTDOOR LIFE FEBRUARY 2013 ISSUE COVER
The cover of the current issue of Outdoor Life.
For the technically inclined, shot with the fuji X-pro 1 and Fuji 35mm.
Beautiful files, edited in LR, then composited in PS.
No major difficulty here, just a lot of tweaking to level and align the main zipper, the bottom of both jacket, the front border of the caps.

AROUND OCHARD ST, MANHATTAN
Well, it's been a while... I've been really busy with some other kind of business and didn't have much time lately to shoot anything... But I went scouting today for a gig coming this week. Press images of the band Matuto. We will be shooting indoors but I'll probably end up doing one or two images outside and I'd rather be ready.

MANHATTAN IN THE AFTERMATH OF SANDY
There is a split in the city.
It seems that North of 31st has electricity, South has not.
Traffic is quite insane midtown, lots of cars, no traffic lights. Surprisingly people handle it with patience.
The first image shot around the Jarvis Center shows midtown lit up in the background.
Then going South on the West Side Highway into Wall Street one enters areas of total darkness.
Quite eery at times. I had to turn back in the Wall St area as it was 100% pitch black, true, I don't have a light on my bike but that's another story...

RED HOOK, BROOKLYN AFTER HURRICANE SANDY
If our neighborhood didn't seem to suffer too much [ see previous post ] it's a different story in Red Hook.
Being on the water front, a lot of basements are flooded, goods in stores are wasted, electricity is off...
New York will need a lot of time, money and efforts to get over this one...
Not exactly what was needed in what are already hard times...
Below some images, starting Van Brunt in Red Hook up to Dumbo.

HURRICANE SANDY IN BROOKLYN PROSPECT LEFFERTS GARDENS
Took a walk yesterday night and was happy to see there was not a lot of damages other than broken trees.
The only casualty was one below... RIP.

FUTURE PRINTS
I have been improving some previous images as a gallery in Paris wants to represent some of my work.
They have picked a few color & B/W images.
Some of the colors here.

SHORT NIGHT WALK ON MANHATTAN BRIDGE
Again the weather is hot [ well, not so hot in fact ] and humid here in NYC.
The particles in the air catch the lights diffusing a blanket of gentle eeriness all over the city.

PROSPECT PARK, BROOKLYN
I couldn't resist taking a late walk yesterday night.
It has been raining in Brooklyn and the park was hot, humid, diffusing many scents.
Somehow it felt like being in Asia.
