BACK HOME, WELL, KIND OF...

A last stop in France, in my home town, Tourcoing before heading back to Brooklyn.
No doubt that Tourcoing does not have the charm of Trouville but it's my hometown and as such I still have a lot of emotional ties to it. Difficult to describe but I like Tourcoing even if I must recognize that things are not changing for the best. It seems that a lot of shops are closing, that life is slowly moving to other cities around. The only positive sign is the rehabilitation of old industrial building into nice condos.

  1. Vincent... Moi je peux partager tes émotions et comme toi revenir à Tourcoing de proche en proche me refait surgir la nostalgie et cruellement rappeler le temps qui passe. Rue de Guisnes je crois reconnaître, et rue du Calvaire je pense lire sur la plaque à l'envers de la #3. J'y serai encore pour les fêtes, comme toi revoir les proches... Quant à la 4L, souvenir d'un périple en Dordogne quand j'étais ado vers 1978...
